The proposal by the Transport Minister for three motorway routes between Ayutthaya and Nakhon Ratchasima, Nonthaburi and Kanchanaburi, and Pattaya and Map Ta Phut have been approved by the cabinet. It is agreed that the project will be financed by the fiscal budget of the Highway Department rather than private firms. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been completed and the project is said to begin early next year. The project also includes a linkage between Dawei, a special economic zone in Myanmar and Lam Chabang Port, Thailand. It is expected that all developments will be completed and ready for service by 2023.
