One of the most interesting areas for developers is Bang Yai. The area is going to be served by the Purple Line Mass Rail Transit in near future and soon there will be a huge shopping mall there. Initially the area was only deemed to be for residential developments, but this perception changed since the Central Pattana (CPN) announced its decision to launch the Central West Gate shopping mall there. The opening of Central West Gate aims to serve the integration of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and attract 13 million customers from eight provinces nearby. In addition the mall will be joined by IKEA as Thailand’s second outlet which is expected to complete in 2560. Another major factor that will transform Bang Yai is the expansion of motorway Bang Yai-Karnckanaburi, a development project by the government which has been approved by the cabinet on the 14th July 2558. The motorway will support the transpotation between Thailand and Dawei, Myanmar. The construction of the motorway will make Bang Yai become one of the most importants roads in the Asean communities. The rise in property prices in Bang Yai has already been observed by Colliers.
